Toyota Belta based on Maruti Suzuki Ciaz To Launch In August

Ciaz-based Toyota Belta to replace Yaris in India

Toyota and Suzuki had signed a global partnership back in 2019 that allowed both major Japanese giants to develop, produce and share models on their own. In India, Toyota is already selling two recurring and recurring cars to Glanza (Maruti Baleno) and Urban Cruiser (Maruti Vitara Brezza).

Toyota has suspended production of its Yaris sedan. While dealers say the company still owns a car and will continue to sell it in the next few months, the focus will soon be on the larger and better value of the Toyota Belta.

Toyota Belta is expected to hit the showrooms in mid-August. Like other Maruti Toyota, it has to be a strong supplier to the company.

  • Production of the Toyota Yaris has stopped
  • Toyota will begin selling the Maruti Ciaz or Belta, which were re-arrested in August
  • The Yaris was not very competitive with rivals such as Honda City, Hyundai Verna and Maruti Ciaz

Why production for the Toyota Yaris has stopped

First of all, the low-selling Yaris was never a worthy competitor to Honda City, the Hyundai Verna or the Maruti Ciaz. It was not open, had no special features, was sold at a slightly higher price and as a result, the Yaris did not get many pickers. As a result, sales of the Yaris which peaked this year at 871 units in March 2021 have been difficult to exceed three figures per month.

Another reason why the Yaris has stopped making room for Maruti's meeting with Toyota's Creta fighter, which is an SUV that both companies have relied on. And then there are other Toyota based products that both companies could possibly make from Toyota's No. 2 plant, instead of Yaris

Toyota Belta: what to expect

The new mid-range SUV will be built jointly by Maruti Suzuki and Toyota in the same line of machine that produces the Yaris sedan. The new mid-range SUV will compete with Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. The new mid-range SUVs are rumored to be based on Toyota's DNGA platform, which also supports Toyota Raize and Daihatsu Rocky.

Toyota Belta will maintain Ciaz formation; however, small changes are expected to give a new feeling. The badge will feature a ‘Toyota’ badge on the center of the grille. It can also find newly developed alloy wheels. The internal layout and features will be exactly the same as Maruti Ciaz; however, it can get a different color scheme.

Engine: -

Toyota Belta will be powered by the same 1.5-liter 4-cylinder petrol engine which naturally desires petrol producing 104bhp high power and 138Nm of torque.

Transmission: -

The delivery option will include a 5-speed manual and 4-speed manual torque converter.

Belta will also borrow its internal features from Ciaz. These include a touchscreen infotainment system that supports wireless communication such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a set of semi-digital tools, a multi-movie steering wheel with built-in controls, cruise control, weather control, and many airbags. , and more.

As for what you can expect in Belta, there is probably nothing expensive. Like the Baleno and Urban Cruiser, you’ll probably find the same K fuel series series as the Ciaz and the soft hybrid system. Construction changes, too, will be minimal. That actually means the Toyota logo instead of Maruti Suzuki and Belta instead of Ciaz.
